It’s that time of the year when Hollywood becomes the cynosure of all eyes and we eagerly await the moment when the best in the industry are called out to the podium to receive the highest accolades in the business.

Yeah, Its OSCAR time!

So who do I want to win what…hmmmm..well, here goes…

Best Actor in a Leading Role – Leonardo DiCaprio

Best Actor in a Supporting Role – Eddie Murphy

Best Actress in a Leading Role – The Queen, need I say more

Best Actress in a Supporting Role – Jennifer Hudson

Achievement in Directing – Martin Scorsese

Thats basically it for me…but as we all know, the Oscars are very unpredictable. Anything can happen. So, lets get out the popcorn, pizza and sit in front of the TV and wait for the announcements…

Men-Speak!

We know that men talk far less than women…We love going straight to the point….Calling a spade a spade….So what do men really mean when they say so and so?

David Zinczenko has a few examples of guy speak…. here’s one -

Anna Nicole to be buried in the Bahamas

Anna Nicole Smith is to be laid to rest in the Bahamas, where her late son, Daniel was also buried. This announcement came from her lawyer who was granted custody of her body by a judge after a tussle between her mother and her partner, Howard Stern. Her mother wanted her to be buried in her native Texas while Stern was for her burial in the Bahamas.

Now that the issue of where to lay her to rest has been resolved, next up is the paternity of Daniellyn. This should be determined by a second court hearing.

Tell Me…What Scares a Man?

Men would claim to be rarely scared but I must admit that there are quite a number of things that I am scared of but I won’t be listing them here .

According to David Zinczenko, there are 15 things men are scared of :

#15 Hair in the drain.
#14 Getting caught noticing another woman.
#13 Rejection.
#12 Super Nanny.
#11 Speedos.
#10 His dad’s death.
#9 Her tears.
#8 Being a lousy lover.
#7 Not being a god to his kids.
#6 Living paycheck to paycheck.
#5 Beautiful women.
#4 Getting naked.
#3 Tofurky.
#2 Not seeing his kids grow up.
# 1 Public humiliation.

Well, I will agree with #1, 2, 8, 11, 13…

Liverpool defeat Barcelona…at the Nou Camp!

Goals from Craig Bellamy and John Arne Riise gave Liverpool a famous victory over Barca at the Nou camp. Deco gave the Catalans the lead with a header but the Merseysiders were too technically adept and held Barca to ransom with their technical play.

The 2nd leg comes up at Anfield in a fortnight and promises to be exciting as Liverpool head into the match with two away goals advantage. There’s still all to play for.

PS – English rivals, Chelsea, hold Porto to a 1-1 draw away.

United 1 – Lille 0!

A Ryan Giggs free kick (albeit, controversial!) was enough to put United in a vantage position ahead of the 2nd leg at Old Trafford in a fortnight.

It was a dreary match with a lot of spurned opportunities at taking the lead.

Britney’s gone bald!

Britney Spears is now a baldie! She just went to a hair salon and voila!… Shaven and shorn Britney! Wow! What a look!

The mother of two, who has been (in)famously in the news recently for late-night partying, indecent exposure and drug and alcohol use, decided to go for the look because she said she was tired of everyone touching her (what does that have to do with her hair, i wonder). She also visited a tattoo parlour and got a few tattoos.

Well, whatever will she come up with next…

Anna Nicole Smith’s Death…A Drug Overdose?

Anna Nicole Smith’s tragic death may have been due to a drug overdose, specifically methadone.

It isn’t certain yet but methadone was found in her refrigerator in her Bahamas residence. It has already been confirmed that the substance was a contributing factor in the death of her son, Daniel.

The investigation is still on-going.

Much Ado About Val’s Day.

It’s Val’s Day again and so much money, time & effort has gone into preparing for today, V-Day. It’s one BIG commercial gimmick. I am not really into Val’s like that but one has to get into the groove if you want to please the babe(s) . I believe that everyday should be a day for demonstrating LOVE, we don’t have to wait for one special day to show that.

I think I am going to just sit quietly at home and just wait the night out (since wifey is not around & i dont want to spend my hard earned money on the “insignificant” others, at least not today!).

Grammys 2007 have come and gone!

Well, the Grammys have come and gone and I almost missed it. In my eager anticipation of the Oscars, I almost completely forgot about the Grammys. I was disappointed that Mary J Blige didn’t win as many awards as I thought she would, she won 3. The Dixie Chicks just kept on appearing onstage for one award after the other. They won the big 3 awards of the night – Album, Record & Song of the Year. Carrie Underwood won the Best New Artiste.

I enjoyed the performances particularly those by Shakira & Wyclef, Justin Timberlake and Chris Brown. As usual, the creme de la creme of the entertainment world turned up.
