Anna Nicole Smith’s tragic death may have been due to a drug overdose, specifically methadone.

It isn’t certain yet but methadone was found in her refrigerator in her Bahamas residence. It has already been confirmed that the substance was a contributing factor in the death of her son, Daniel.

The investigation is still on-going.

Much Ado About Val’s Day.

Pink rose

It’s Val’s Day again and so much money, time & effort has gone into preparing for today, V-Day. It’s one BIG commercial gimmick. I am not really into Val’s like that but one has to get into the groove if you want to please the babe(s) :). I believe that everyday should be a day for demonstrating LOVE, we don’t have to wait for one special day to show that.

I think I am going to just sit quietly at home and just wait the night out (since wifey is not around & i dont want to spend my hard earned money on the “insignificant” others, at least not today!).

Grammys 2007 have come and gone!

Well, the Grammys have come and gone and I almost missed it. In my eager anticipation of the Oscars, I almost completely forgot about the Grammys. I was disappointed that Mary J Blige didn’t win as many awards as I thought she would, she won 3. The Dixie Chicks just kept on appearing onstage for one award after the other. They won the big 3 awards of the night – Album, Record & Song of the Year. Carrie Underwood won the Best New Artiste.

I enjoyed the performances particularly those by Shakira & Wyclef, Justin Timberlake and Chris Brown. As usual, the creme de la creme of the entertainment world turned up.

Check out for more details.

Yesterday in History – Mandela freed from prison

Nelson Mandela

I was surfing through the net as usual and decide to check up a few facts on one of my respected role models, Mandela. I learnt that yesterday marked the day he was finally released from prison after 27 years of imprisonment.

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, also known as Madiba in South Africa was the first black South African president in the post-apartheid era to be elected via democratic elections. Born in 1918, he was an avowed anti-apartheid activist and leader of the African National Congress. He was tried and imprisoned for his involvement in underground armed resistance activities. He was steadfastly committed to non-violence and the armed struggle was a last resort.
He spent 18 years of his imprisonment on the now famous Robben Island where he was assigned the prison number, 46664.

Upon his release from prison, he commenced a process of negotiation, national reconciliation and forgiveness. In 1994, the ANC won the overwhelming majority in the democratic elections and as the leader of the party was inaugurated as the president.

He has achieved a lot in the field of international diplomacy and has gained international respect for his advocacy for social and human rights issues. Amongst the many awards and accolades received, worthy of note is the Nobel Peace Prize awarded in 1993.

Who is the father of Anna Nicole Smith’s Baby?

Anna Nicole Smith & baby with one of the “fathers” - Howard Stern

After the death of A.N.S , the question on everyone’s lips is – who is the father of her baby, Dannielynn Hope? There are 3 men in the picture – Howard Stern, her lawyer; Larry Birkhead, her former boyriend &  Prince Frederic Von Anhalt, Zsa Zsa Gabor’s husband.  A fourth man comes into the fray, albeit from the grave – her dead billionaire husband, J. Howard Marshall after it was revealed by her half-sister, Donna Hogan, that she froze his sperm and may have used it to get pregnant.

So why is the paternity of this baby so important to all these men (except the dead one, of course!)? Well, that’s easy – MONEY! Millions of it. The fate of Marshall’s fortune is yet to be determined as a legal battle is still ongoing and ANS’s estate stands to gain about half a billion dollars.

But why all this fuss over the paternity issue? Is it not as easy as having a DNA test done? So why hasn’t it been done? The matter is in the courts now…let’s see how it plays out.

Meanwhile, Dannielyn is reportedly in the Bahamas, where she was born.

What to do when your Internet connection goes down & out…

•February 10, 2007 • 1 Comment

Well, I usually can’t imagine what the world would be like without the Internet. At those few times when your connection decides to act up for a couple of minutes, hours or days!!!…what do you do to occupy your time?

Speaking freely has five things to do when this happens. In short, they are:

1. Categorize your bookmarks.
2. Delete programs you don’t use.
3. Unplug your computer, take the cover off and clean out the dust.
4. Write your next blog post.
5. Run any maintenance programs you don’t have auto-scheduled.
6. Write down your logins and passwords.

Usually, I am first mad then pissed then sad then upset and the vicious cycle continues. I look for something to do and it could be anyone of the following…

1, Play a game – my favourite is FIFA 2002. An oldie but a goodie.

2, Watch a movie – I have some movies on my hard disk that I have barely had time to see…no internet, must see movie.

3, Organize your media files

4, Create back ups of your important documents

So, now you know what to do when your Internet connection goes down.
